Saturday
Six students have plummeted past my window today. Apparently, I have caused a craze for jumping into the ravine with a parachute. (And one without a parachute – messy.) I will not leave my room until the madness is over. Pelly brought me food and ornithology books, bless her. After midnight I will sneak down to the fabrication hall and make repairs and improvements to the wings.
Saturday, later.
There is a club. I shall die of shame. (Or perhaps starvation, if Pelly doesn’t bring me something from dining hall soon!). They call themselves the Philly Fliers. Pelly says someone is fabricating badges of enameled copper. Badges! I hope they don’t bear my name. I shall have to ask Pelly to ascertain, since I am never leaving my room again. During daylight, at least. I shall creep about at night, a disgraced shadowy creature of failed science and public spectacle.
