Steampunk Family

I do so hope you will join us this Friday, October 22, 2010 from 7pm to 11pm at The Soundry in Vienna, Virginia for the Opening of Technopunk 1801 – 2099 Art Show.

Steam, Cyber & Street Punk Unite!

Art can be a lifestyle and its own culture. TechnoPunk 1801-2099 embraces art genres that encourage the artist and the observer to engage in another time, another place and to LIVE with the art through experience and interaction. “TechnoPunk 1801-2099” is an art show featuring everything CyberPunk, SteamPunk, Street Punk, New Media, and Anime! Friday night will feature live street punk art by Ground Zero Crew, an Introduction to Steampunk, music, art, video, audio, and, of course, costume strutting!

Take a look at some of the gorgeous pieces the Fearless Fabricator has in the show:steampunk portable bar

This is the Mad Science Portable Mixology Lab, otherwise known as the Steampunk Bar. You may have been offered an absinthe from this very model. This is the piece that won us the Honorable Mention for Madness from Professor Elemental at the Steampunk World’s Fair, finished at last with etched copper drawer pulls. Wood with brass and copper details, and very scientific contents.

steampunk ipod charger and speakers

This began life as a wine box, and now it plays and charges your iPod in elegance. Works from batteries or A/C, wood with brass and copper.

I’ve been taking a vote on Live Journal’s Steamfashion group to decide what to wear. Can’t wait!

I wish I had known about this sooner (my own fault for not checking my RSS reader), as I am currently attending Capclave in Rockville. I was citing you last night on a steampunk panel. :^)

How did the art show go?

  • Fearless Fabricator says:

The art show went well, thanks. Had a nice size crowd and the Polka Dots played two sets. Met many new friends, plus got to catch up on so old friendships.
