Last Friday we had a big party at the opening of Technopunk 1801-2099. What a wonderful time! I was impressed by the number of well-dressed Steampunks, the variety of awesome artworks, and the sheer coolness of the Maker Space that is The Soundry!

Some of The Polka Dots were on hand; hot tunes, dancing and sing-alongs ensued. They are fantastic – go buy their CD here.

The mission of The Soundry is “to get artists out of their basements and into the community by providing affordable space and support. It helps the artists and it benefits the community at large. We’re for people who want to start taking their art more seriously, and for people who want to support that expression in our community.” Studio, gallery, performance space, coffee shop, & friendly, energetic, clever people – we’re looking forward to more collaborations with these folks!
More photos are posted on the von_hedwig flickr photostream.

Go get a coffee and check out the fantastic art through November 30, 2010.
