Katsucon 2011

We are very excited to be participating in Katsucon next weekend, February 18 – 20, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, and the schedule is up at last.

Much of the programming is dedicated to anime and Japanese pop culture, but there are a variety of offerings for all tastes. On Friday night, in addition to Ballroom dance lessons, there will be a Question and Answer session with the Clockwork Dolls, followed by a concert and autograph session.

On Saturday the Clockwork Dolls are hosting not one but two tea parties (that is how we met, at tea at the Steampunk World’s Fair). Then the Dolls and Steampunk Family will  be reunited at the Steampunk Show and Tell panel from 4:30 – 6. Meet and greet and show off your fabulous gear. New to Steampunk? Come and be inspired! Seasoned veteran of the Venusian campaign? Share your knowledge and show off your death ray (check weapons policy first). Compare notes, learn tricks and tips for developing and outfitting your Steampunk persona. The Steampunk Family and special guests the Clockwork Dolls will be on hand to facilitate discussion, answer questions, and recommend resources.

There will be a Masquerade Ball Saturday night, and the entire event has scheduling 24 hours a day. I’m looking forward to Historical Costuming with Jennifer Vanderloop Sunday morning.

I hope to meet many Steampunks this weekend, and meeting Steampunks is one of my favorite things to do!
