Steampunk Family is proud and positively vibrating with excitement to be traveling to Waltham, Massachusetts this weekend to participate in a city-wide steampunk festival, the International Steampunk City. Actual industrial revolution meets our wild steampunk fantasies courtesy of the Charles River Museum of Industry, Steampuffin, and the entire town of Waltham!
According to the event web site, here are some of the treats awaiting us: “Festival organizers have planned over 1,000 hours of entertainment including but not limited to: four art galleries, live bands, historic steam vehicles, an authentic Victorian picnic, a New Orleans style parade, sword dancing, a Civil War Re-enactment, fire eaters, steampunk storytellers, sideshow acts, belly dancers, Morris dancers, scholarly lectures, model engineering exhibits, ham radio operators, Skype stations, workshops, author signings, street performances, gardening experiences, boating, blacksmith demonstrations, shopping, magicians, theatrical performances, film screenings, Live Action Role Playing Games, Victorian history demonstrations, photo opportunities, train rides, and more.”
We’ll be in the thick of it! Stop by our white canvas tent and say ahoy hoy!
