Down Mine

June 27, 2012

This week’s photo comes from an adventure in Pennsylvania. On the way home from Conbust one year we stopped to tour the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine and Steam Train in Ashland. We showed up, all in costume on March 31, only to find the attraction opened for the season on April 1. Our disappointment was quickly quenched when a gentleman came out of the museum office and asked if we were the folks who had called ahead for a photo shoot. I had not had the foresight to call ahead, but affirmed that we were here for photos. (Not lying, you see, but thinking fast!) They were so nice – called a tour guide to come in and give us a private tour and let us take all the pictures we wanted. I don’t know who called ahead, but I hope they had as much fun as we did. Here is our post on the visit.
