Here’s the astonishing thing. This gathering was arranged by word of mouth, Facebook & Twitter in under two hours. At a convention with more than 10,000 people attending. The Clockwork Dolls and Steampunk Family picked a time between our panels (failing, of course, to advertise it during any of our panels), then accosted anyone with goggles and asked them to spread the word. After an hour or so, people were stopping us in the hall and telling us about it. Well done, steampunk community, well done! Imagine how many might have shown up with more notice. Perhaps we’ll find out at Katsucon next year.
