Taken at a Society for the Advancement of Steamptopian Ideals meetup, I am riding the carousel on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Since I was reliving my youth by wearing one of my old circus outfits, I entertained the company with various riding tricks, but sadly none of those pictures came out particularly well. (When I 5’8″ person in 3″ heels stands on the back of a carousel horse, her head disappears behind the canopy!) It was a marvelous outing, and since it was on St. Stephen’s Day, I wore holly and a dead wren in my hair.
