October 2, 9, 16 & 23, 2012, 7-9pm – Corset Construction with P. Phineas von Hedwig. Cheap corsets abound on the internet, but weak boning and poor construction make most not worth the cost of shipping. The only way such a form-fitting garment will truly accentuate your figure and your wardrobe is if it is fitted to you.
If you can sew, steampunk’s Fearless Fabricator can show you how to custom fit a corset to your body, wardrobe, and budget. Chip has made dozens of corsets for many different-shaped women and men. His online corset-fitting tutorial is one of the most popular on the web, and now he’s bringing his expertise to Round Hill Art Center. After a review of the history and potential of the corset, you will choose the shape most flattering for your shape, and learn how to custom-fit a one-of-a-kind corset just for you. You will leave the class with the corset you’ve always wanted, and the ability to make more. $100 for 4 classes + $25 materials fee includes everything but the corset cover fabric, which of course you will want to pick out for yourself!
Register today, have a new, perfectly-fitted corset by Halloween!
