Hey, great to have met ethe Family at the Soundry. I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to share ideas with you about my steampunk-themed motorcycle…how delightful to talk to kindred spirits.

Copper-wrapped exhausts, oxidized fuel tank, railroad lantern headlight, and wood fenders…why not?

  • Fearless Fabricator says:

The Delight was ours as well. Can’t wait to see the on going project. Keep in touch.

  • John says:

Reenergized after having just rescued a 100lb drill press (now up and running) from the landfill, I’m now scouring back alleys and dumpsters for steambike components.

Stay tuned for updates from the aether…

  • Madame vonHedwig says:

    Landfill drill press? Fantastic!

  • John says:

Unfortunately, finding a working (it just needed a belt) drill press in a rubbish heap will ensure that I will haunt dumpsters and back alleys for the next decade, in the hopes of finding something as spectacular…pieces of dirigible aluminum framework, hoops of copper wire, a working Corless steam mill…

  • John says:

So…if you need anything drilled in a repeatable, accurate manner, I now have the tool for it…just let me know what you or the Schoneluft may require…

  • Doctor Q says:

    Madame vonHedwig,
Would you family care to join us down in Terminus April 16th for the Clockwork Carnival? Talloolah and I think quite fondly of you all and would love to have you in attendance. Keep up the amazing work and I am sure we’ll see each other soon enough.

  • Fearless Fabricator says:

  • Madame von Hedwig says:

My dear Doctor, as much as we would delight in spending time with you and the delicious Talloolah, we are seriously traveled out and must take April off. Need to work on portal technology to bring us closer together!

  • Albus Cavus says:

Not sure where I picked up your card, but very happy I foudn it. You guys do awesome stuff. Cant wait for Cherry Blossom. We, Albus Cavus Collective will also create an installation for the festival so I’m sure we will run into each other. Thanks

I haven’t gotten a chance to buy fabric for that corset.

  • You have until next Conbust to turn in your work.;) Remember to use canvas (or other strong, non-stretchy fabric for the lining). Since you were not in a position to take notes during the demo, feel free to contact either of us with questions, or check the corset making posts for info.

Hello everyone! I was very kindly recommended this site through a Steampunk Fashion group when inquiring about events in my area. My family and I just moved from Japan to the Maryland/D.C. area. Although I lived here 4 years ago, I am no longer in touch with the events in the area. I am looking for new places to sell my jewelry, or just some wonderful events to attend where I can meet wonderful new people.

  • Welcome back! I recommend joining The Society for the Advancement of the Steamtopian Ideal (SASI) on Facebook. They serve as a central communication point for steampunk events in the area. You can also check our events page, but it’s not comprehensive, as it just shows where Steampunk Family will be. As for your business, check out Steam at Harpers Ferry – the only Steampunk Gallery in the area!

  • MRS says:

Thank you very much for all the wonderful information Madame von Hedwig! I look forward to checking them out 🙂

  • Tracy Horstman says:

It was great to see you at Awesome Con! in DC this past weekend. I really, really enjoyed your panel discussion. It really got my daughter’s creative juices flowing for next year’s con. I hope you are asked back!

  • Thanks! We met a lot of fine folks and saw lots of fun cosplay! Glad your daughter enjoyed it too.
